I did not get one as already have more disk space than I need and my next computer will most likely be SATA. But a great deal if you need a HD now. Also Seagate rebate is quite reliable.
I got one too at the Manhattan Beach Fry's (SoCal) while doing my weekly Fry's inspection, even though I don't really need it.
By the way, are those USB2 Hard drive enclosures any good? I could make this an external drive.
This only applies to the bigger boxed version (SKU 6850838). If you own a previous version, you can get another $20 MIR.
BTW, anyone knows this is much more powerful than the SW that comes with the camera(Nikon Picture Projects).
The OEM is $50 + $4 shipping.
This retail pack is $60 + free shipping. and looking at the pictures, it comes with softwre of course, but also one box of 52xCDr and one box of 16x DVD+R discs. I cannot find out the quantity, but both are cake box packed, perhaps 20?
Looks like a good deal...
There is an Officemax insert in the Los Angeles Sunday Times which is a brown paper bag. It says you get 15% discount on all items you can put in the bag. Certain items are excluded of course. If you are going to buy something from them anyway, this is an extra 15% savings.
The OCR site usually has 5-7 pages of ads while the LA times site only has 3-4 pages. Unfortunately OCR abandoned the PDF format and use a style similar to LA times with even a smaller image. You really have to click on every section to see clearly unless you have a 21"+ screen.
It comes with 1 IDE and 1 floppy cable. You can connect a CD/DVD drive and a harddrive to the same IDE channel using one IDE cable. If you want to connect CD and harddrive on seperate IDE channels (there are 2), you need to buy another IDE cable (make sure you buy one for ATA100).
