Looked in the bios about the PCI slot 1 thing and couldn't find any setting that would affect that. Then I updated my "Via USB host controller" driver and now it works great!

I had the same problem with my USB 2.0 hub and came here looking for an answer, then i checked the manual. It says that USB 2.0 and PCI slot 1 can't be used at the same time, so you either have to disable USB 2.0 in the bios to use pci slot 1 or not use pci slot 1. I'm going to take a look at...
