Under Win98/Me I was able to just assign a read or read/write password to a folder I wanted to share. I'm not looking for security just the ability to keep wide open shares closed unless needed to avoid (for one thing) viruses like BugBear spreading.
How the heck do I assing a simple password...
<< What exactly did you type? Like what parameters did you put in?
ie. a:\>fdisk ... >>
FDISK :)
There are only 2 or 3 command line options for FDISK. I even downloaded the Microsoft FDISK update and still the same problem. I've been doing this for 16 years with never a problem running...
<< Maybe your floppy with fdisk on it is messed up? >>
That was my first thought but it wasn't the case. :(
P.S. I'm trying to partition a 40gig drive.
I have an Intel 850MV Motherboard with P4 2.4gig CPU & 1 gig RDRAM. I'm trying to create a FAT32 partition on a brand new hard-drive using FDISK off a WIN98SE Boot floppy.
When I type FDISK I get the "do you want large drive support" message. I answer YES (or NO) and it drops back to the A...
Don't even waste your time being concerned over it. The first people to get any piece of a bankruptcy are the banks. Then they pay like 3c on the dollar from the highest creditors down. We'll be lucky to see 10 cents (total). The letter is a legal requirement of the court. It must be sent to...
CNET (not ETAK or their rebate fulfillment center) is honoring it as long as you received it BEFORE the rebate was pulled off of the CNET website (around 10/10). Fax a copy of your receipt, your UPC code, the rebate form and a copy of your packing list (or a copy of your credit card statement...
It's CNET's error, we need to confront them. They posted (according to ETAK) an unauthorized rebate form. I would have never purchased this item if it wasn't for the rebate. Now I can't return it (cut out UPC and mailed it).
I think C-NET is the one at fault here since the rebate form (according to ETAK) was never autorized by them. I received my PCMCIA model, cut out the UPC, & sent the forms certified mail (I send any rebate forms $50 or more via certified to CMA) - so I can't return it. I would NEVER have...
I wonder if we are going to get the rebates for this item. Check out the following URL and click on the "rebate info" button. it seems they will NOT be paying these rebates.

Pointclick has me confused. If I buy a $300 CPU from ONVIA for example, send in the reimbursement form etc (assuming I follow their procedures) do I get a CHECK from POINTCLICK for the $30 or is it a credit to another purchase from one of their "partners" ????
Also, has anyone ever...
Question on the MSI SlotKet ..... does it have the SLOT1 "frame" around the card like the Abit or Iwill do to hold it into the Slot1 slot. By "frame" I mean that the Slotket card sits into a plastic frame which surrounds the Slotket card then drops into the motherboard...
Stamps.Com just changed their policy posted on their web site re: the "free" scale. If you cancel within the first 30 days you will be billed $33 for the scale unless you send it back. I just changed my plan for the 2nd month to the $1.99 plan then will cancel. :)
FastEddieG ...
I agree with you 200%. They specifically ask for a UPC BAR CODE. That's what they asked for, that's what I sent. I gave the printer to my kids and they tossed out the box already. If they reject this there is going to be hell raised!
They got mine on 6/22 ... haven't heard...
E-Stamps has just released a new "service pack." It has fixed all my (non)Printing of postage problems caused by their vaults incompatabilty with my Asus Via 133mhs FSB motherboard printer port. It will automatically download when you start the software.
