I have one and it works well in XP, But you have to use the new drivers at Belkin's site i think it's ver 2.2. Also you have to plug the device in prior to loading the drivers or XP will not detect it properly.

The problem could be you're power supply. If you're system is'nt getting enough power one of the signs is that the system will often reboot itself. Hope this helps.
