I wrote last week about random lock ups from my computer...well, the problem soon got much worse. As soon as I hit the power button, all the lights turn on, the fans starting spinning, the hard drive and cd/dvd drives start spinning, but nothing else happens. The red "working" light just stays...

My computer has slowly started locking up more and more, usually when I'm playing a game of some sort. It's even more likely to do it as I'm listening to music at the same time, so I'm thinking its a memory or cpu issue. Any ideas or tests I could run to try and isolate the problem?

Tried windows setup.. it's telling me that I can't delete the partition because it's using temp setup files from it....

Well I set the ram at a 133 divider and lowered the timings. It ran CS at 2.4 but it had green lines on the walls and floor.. wasn't very stable.. didn't kick me off though. With my ram at 1:1 and the cpu at 2.4 GHz.. it looked nice.. just froze on me after 20 minutes... 2.3 GHz at 1:1...

Well it crashed again even with the divider.. guess 2.3 is just the max my cpu can do. Either way I'm ok with that. Thanks for the help everyone.. if yall have anymore ideas I'd be willing to try. Might end up getting a newer 3200 once the prices go down simply because I don't like odd numbers. :P

I remember it was an early 40.... 43 I believe. Too much trouble to take off the hsf with all that arctic silver. Knew I should have written it down. Yes, it's the samsung TCCDs. 270 at those timings? I can't get much to run at 267 with worse timings. :(

ok.. so should I put it back to the pc3200 ratings of 2-2-2-5 and then use the divider?

Which is more important? Is the faster clock speed worth using the divider?

Is there a certain program I can download or anything that I can do to make sure my temp readings are correct? I hear that the Neo2 doesn't report them accurately.

Isn't this motherboard supposed to be an ultra? heh.. it also isn't showing the manufacturer name. Maybe I don't have drivers installed proplerly or something. Had this thing running for almost a month now no problems and just noticed this.
