Which Overclock Should I Use For E6600?

I'm using a Asus P5W DH board with bios 1401. Also, I think that the max temperature of 61 corresponds with PC probe temps and not core temp. Coretemp is a different type of reading and I've seen it go above 75 and still be stable, however as soon as PC probe goes above 61, the chip locks up...

    Overclocking my C2D 6600

Probably. I'm almost positive Corsair lets you increaes the voltage to 2.1v without voiding the warranty. Try 2.0v first though b/c it'll only make excess heat if you overvolt. If you get the blue screen of death and random lockups after intensive cpu usage, just put the memory back where it...

    Overclocking my C2D 6600

Your ram has a pretty good chance of getting to 712, if not, downlock it with the first ram option. I am almost positive you will have to take the voltage to about 1.3875 or 1.40 to get 3.2ghz. Hopefully not, but i bet you will.

    Overclocking my C2D 6600

Thats good news. The week 28s are the best retail overclockers beside the week 27's. Your temps seem fine right now but keep an eye on them if you go up an more in FSB or Vcore. Also, you don't really need to frequently test Otrhos for 12 hours. First b/c nothing you do will use that much...

    Overclocking my C2D 6600

Also, just to warn you, if you go much above 333 FSB, you are probably goign to have to increase the voltage to the processor to keep it stable. With stock cooling, do not increase Vcore past 1.4250v and make sure your Asus probe temps stay below 40 degrees at idle and 46 at load (during...

    Overclocking my C2D 6600

Ya, the P5W motherboard always restarts like that when overclocking. There is a good reason, at least i think: If you overclock too much and it freezes, normally you have to take out the batter or reset the jumper to set the bios back to stock from the excessive overclock. But the P5W alwyas...

Which Overclock Should I Use For E6600?

    I can can do either one of the two: 3.40ghz with 1.4750vCore Asus probe temps: Idle = 36 Load = 42 Coretemp temps: Idle = 52/51 Load = 62/62 OR 3.50ghz with 1.5375vCore Asus probe temps: Idle = 40 Load = 46 Coretemp temps: Idle = 56/55 Load = 67/67...

    Overclocking my C2D 6600

I'd start by increasing the FSB to 333 as well, that will give you 3.0ghz and should be stable without having to increase the voltage to the processor and ok temps with a stock cooler. Also, your ram's default frequency is 337.5 (675/2 becuase it is DDR), so anything under a fsb of 337 will not...

    e600 p5w dh overclock

Phil, I had a week 24 e6600 (and p5w deluxe with zalman 9500) and I was only able to get to 3.2ghz with it. I tried EVERYTHING, but unless I was goign to give it >1.50vcore, it refused to go above 3.2. So I sold it, which is harder to do now, and got a week 28. With this processor, I can get...

    E6600 Week 28 OC Results

I managed to sell my week 24 E6600 without a loss and get a new E6600 week 28. With my week 24, I was able to get 3.2ghz with 1.4785vCore. With my week 28, I am able to get 3.41ghz with 1.4785vCore. I cannot get anything above 3.41ghz (379fsb) for the most part. I've tried 392fsb with...

Safe Voltage for Core 2 Processors

Alright, well I never believed it would happen, but I just sold my 3 week old OEM E6600 on Amazon for $345. Yes, you heard right, used, $345. In addittion, I have just placed an order with Newegg for a NEW RETAIL E6600 for $339 with FREE SHIPPING. The reason for this trade is the news about the...

Safe Voltage for Core 2 Processors

Sorry, yes i mean 1.4625 Vcore. Also, I cannot do anything less than 1.4625v and achieve 3.2ghz stable either. I am on bios 1305 with Asus P5w deluxe adn have tried other bios' as well. Execine, do you have the stepping 6 b2 version of the E6600? That is what I have and it seems everyone with...

Safe Voltage for Core 2 Processors

Does anyone have any input on what is a safe voltage for the Core 2 Duo Processors? I've got a E6600 at 3.2ghz at 4.625 vCore and was wondering if that is ok or could i push it a little more. I've heard a lot of places anything under 1.50 is ok with good cooling (I have a Zalman 9500 fan). My...

Arctic Silver 5 on Video Card or Not?

I have a X1800 based video card, and like the rest of them, runs very hot when overclocked (up to about 70c). I was wondering if taking off the heatsink and applying some AS5 would make a big difference in the temps or not. I've read there are some dangers of getting the AS5 on the board and...
