You're right, this is the one ASUS shows in its manual. Good eye! But it only provides two USB ports, when in fact the motherboard supports four more. I don't use a game port. In the age of USB, who does?? :-) I would rather just have the four ports available. But thanks for finding that...

Checked it. ASUS doesn't have the connector in their available accessories. They only sell USB PCI cards. Point is, ASUS puts the USB header on the motherboard, but doesn't provide the connector to use it, and I cannot locate any such connector anywhere. This means that I now need to...

Been to Fry's - no luck. Tried to use one from my older Gigabyte m/b, but the plugs do not match the ASUS pin layout. Any online vendors? Would like to get one that supports four connections, which is of course what ASUS advertises... Thanks in advance for the help!

Well, after a number of tweaks and things, the PC is finally working as it should. I'm afraid to even move the damn thing out of the room. Thanks for the help... Fingers crossed whatever I did will stick.

Thanks for the reply! Did what you suggested. I had thought I tried that before, but nevertheless, I was able to connect to the internet just fine doing that :) But going back to the previous configuration results in the same problem, again replicating the settings my other PCs are using...

Case in point. I have a PC at home, 300w PS, running a Duron 600 on an MSI K7T Pro 2 M/B. GeForce video card, Netgear NIC card, Live! audio card, and a single hard drive and CD-ROM. That's it. Shouldn't be a problem. PC, however, will occasionally allow me to see the other PCs on my home...

Well, after some more research, I've decided to keep just the two hard disks on the RAID controller in a striped config, and put three ATAPI drives and a storage hard drive onto IDE1 and 2. If you still have any opinions on my original question, please feel free to post. Thanks!

I switched from an overclocked Duron (600 @ 960) to a 1.33GHz/266 AMD CPU. It runs hot without overclocking. Using arctic silver, etc. but I'm hitting 50c easy and getting some game crashes as a result. Invested in another fan which is on its way, but I was wondering if anyone had issues...

With all the discussion of the GF3 3D quality, I have yet to see an assessment of whether the GF3 improves on the 2D quality which nVidia failed to deliver in previous cards. Anyone heard anything on this?
