I found out one of the problems just now. Apparently my power supply, the 330W Antec TruePower psu, has a fan control feature where it controls the speed of the fans depending on the temperatures in the case. To disable this I had to switch from the "Fan only" labeled power cords to just regular...
My vcore is at 1.64v. I need to wait until later to experiment with my fans, however. I'm going to be gone most of the day today for the Tool concert :)
And thanks for all of your help so far, everyone.
So does anyone think that the thermometer on my motherboard could be out of whack? I know the heatsink is installed well, I used Arctic Silver 3 exactly as was instructed and although my fan is a little slow I still have 3 other case fans. It doesn't make sense to me that after all of this the...
I have here two computers connected on a D-Link DI-704P router. I'm running Windows XP Pro on both machines. Internet is working on both like it should. However, the My Network Places folder my main machine only shows the shared items on this computer, while my other computer recognizes all the...
I guess I better try to RMA this floppy drive then.
The fan is 2900 RPM on my heatsink.
Leaving the sides off actually made no difference.
Can you tell me what the normal voltages should be? I'll check them but I'm not sure what the norm is for voltages.
I did reapply the thermal paste. The system temperature is around 35C. I have 3 case fans and a fan on the heatsink. Running it with the sides off doesn't make much of a difference.
The heatsink was hot to the touch and I do have a fan on the heatsink that is spinning. I have Arctic Silver 3...

I just built a new machine but am having troubles installing Windows XP. It gives either corrupted files errors or a blue screen of death. It doesn't get very far in the installation, it gets past the detection of the hardware but not into the part where you partition. Furthermore, my XP 2200+...
I'm planning to build a new machine soon and I'm thinking about getting the Giga Byte GA-7VRXP Motherboard which comes with on-board sound. Before making my purchase I want to know if I'd be able to tell the difference between the on-board sound and a decent sound card like a Turtle Beach Santa...
My P3 800 here is getting dated and since I spend most of my time playing games I think it's time for me to get a new system. Below are some parts I picked out from Newegg and the total came out to $1550 which is very pricey. I'm wondering how I can lower the cost while still getting a good...
