Sister's going to college soon. Want to give her a pepper spray system.
Have considered like a stun gun, but batteries do degrade and in all honesty there's a good chance the gun will be neglected until it's really needed.
Or are there any other options out there?
Would temporary confiscation of guns in the event of a domestic restraining order...really give you any problems? Really? You're law abiding, right? You treat your wife right, would never raise a hand, amirite?
They're neat intricate machines like watches.
That's basically what it is. But then like people take themselves too seriousliy and get caught up in some dumb higher purpose about the 2nd amendment and defending liberty and make all sorts of dumb arguments like women need AR15's to defend...

Good job, guys. Way to be serious about responsible gun ownership.

I'd probably do like NY does: limit semi-automatic capacity to 7 which is basically a 1911 or garand (gun nerd alert: it holds 8 rounds. OMG omg omg).
automatic weapons of course should not be allowed. Imagine all of the convenience store robbers who would spray the streets with...
I've said many times that I'd be okay with the WWII era weapons like the 1911 being legal, or the springfield. I don't think battlerifles like the US Army uses should be legal because they make it too easy to kill large numbers of people in public areas.
My favorite gun is the 1911. Maybe the Mosin Nagant too. It's on my to-do list, but pretty far down, like 36.
I seriously do think the 2nd should be repealed though. You don't need a constitutional amendment for there to be automobiles all over the place, no?
I'm making a more nuanced argument here. I recognize that people enjoy sport shooting. However, I don't think enough people realize the health hazards of shooting with lead bullets. Shoot thousands of rounds and that's a lot of lead. Plus, all the lead that's left in people's like backyards and...
You mean Thomas Jefferson, the man who raped Sally Hemings and held his own children in slavery? Whose failure to address slavery adequately led to a civil war in the next generation?
Nice arguing there.
It's not even an anti-gun thing to say that bullets should be made out of something other than lead, is it? Or are you so paranoid that even measures meant to improve gun owner health trigger gun confiscation fears?
