A while ago I downloaded the release preview software onto a virgin SSD. Friday I went to:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/buy?ocid=GA8_O_WOL_DIS_ShopHP_FPP_Light
and paid $39.99 to update to the full Win8 Pro version. I got a product key before the download. After the download...
Thanks, Just got one via the online coupon code. I wanted a DVD in case what just happened to my system disk happens again.
I'll pick it up at a local store. A few minutes after placing the order I received a confirming email stating that my copy will be delivered by UPS to the store, expected...
Given the dropping prices for Athlons, I'm considering biting on a replacement for an aging Duron. An XP2500+ with the Barton core would be really sweet, but I'm not sure about compatibility. The BIOS history page for this MB on the Shuttle website states that the 5/8/02 version included support...
I just tried to order the USB 2.0- hub. Put in the coupon code, but the price was never reduced by 50%. I got up to the pooint of entering credit card information. Any idea what I am doing wrong.
Sorry about the messed up earlier post:brokenheart:
I returned a bad 300w PSU to the Geeks over Christmas. They were out of stock on that model, so they sent me a 400w unit as a replacement. No problems except it took a few weeks. In the meantime I had to buy a 250w temporary fromCompUSA. So no real complaints about the Geeks' service.
Hi again,
Please ignore my post - just got an e-mail from tekgeek with an RMA number. The customer service people, to whom I wrote first, still have not replied.
Hey, what does it take for CompGeeks to answer their e-mail? I have a DOA power supply and have e-mailed them at several different addresses with no response. The one-year guarantee of the psu is not much good if the company won't stand behind it. :disgust:
Hi Workin'
Well, this problem was simple. The $25 250W special from CompUSA worked just fine. The Leadman-PowMax 300W from CompGeeks was simply DOA.
Dunno about whether it would be a good idea to get a different replacement for my AK31, considering the posts above.
Here are some to try:
amdmb for amd boards
Neoseeker is a price finder site with many reviews listed.
amdzone is another specializing in amd boards.
Good luck. ;)
Thanks, Workin'. Your surmise might be correct, as I do have an Enlgiht 7237 case. I just got a spare psu from CompUSA and will get down to business this evening. Will let you know the outcome.
