    Core 2 Duo Photoshop test

Hi noushy, Those are some nice results. It shows that broly8877 must have made a typo or done something incorrectly when running the test on his system. On my CS2 system, with the Pentium D @ 3 GHz, it runs in 48 seconds. I went to tried it out with only one of my cores active for...

    Core 2 Duo Photoshop test

I'm glad you brought this up. In fact, when I saw your original thread (which I've just posted in) it brought me to recall this benchmark which I thought may give some insight to the usefulness of dual-core processing for Photoshop. Your X2 scores will definitely improve upon the current...

Does Photoshop take advantage of dual core procs?

Hi Avi85, Photoshop DEFINITELY takes advantage of a second core. Linked up to the next two links, the benchmarks show that it does make a difference, especially when applying filters and such effects. PS link 1 PS link 2

    Core 2 Duo Photoshop test

Hi Guys, To continue from a post from last year, I'd like to see how much faster these new Core 2 Duo chips are at performing the given Photoshop test. Using Photoshop CS or CS2 (or PS 7) ================================================== 1.) Download the test image from...

    Dual core vs. Dual Cpu

I appreciate the input so far. I know that one of the best indicators to answering my question would be to get a dual-core machine and try it out myself and see how it goes. One scenario I have is where a client is using an old Compaq dual P3-600 machine running Windows 2000 Server. Its...

    Dual core vs. Dual Cpu

Hi guys, How does a dual-core cpu compare against a true SMP dual-cpu system? Example would be a Pentium D 840 (or AMD X2 4200+) vs. 2x Pentium 4 - 2.8 GHz Xeon system? For the price, dual-core seems great. I am primarily interested in terms of the Windows lines of server operating systems...
