Hey everyone,
My problem is solved, though I don't know how or why
I unplugged EVERYTHING, took out all the SATA and IDE wires. Took the chassis out in the hallway and blew all the dust out of it I could. Then connected just the new HD and it seemed to work fine. Installed Windows on...
Hmmmm maybe. But then why would it only affect one hard drive and not the other?
The 320GB Maxtor is still in there and still gets constant use every day. But when I plug either Seagate in, the freezes and spins happen.
Its not the cables either - I've tried every combination of...
Hey all,
I built a computer in Jan 2004 that included the following components
motherboard: ASUS A7N9X-E Deluxe
hard drive: 160GB SATA Seagate Baracuda 7200.7
Everything worked great for many months. Eventually I added a second SATA hard drive for data (Maxtor 320GB) and everything...
I wasn't concerned with keeping a HT running during a power loss. Just the tivo so it would keep recording if I lost power during one of my shows.

I'm looking to buy 2 UPS battery back-ups, one for my computer and one for my home entertainment a/v equipment.

Thanks!

OK, I bought a spindle of 8x DVD+R Ritek media from newegg Link
I have a NEC 3500a, and am using Nero 6.3.1.20
When I go to burn, my only options are 2.4x or 4x... What am I doing wrong?
By the way, this is what DVD Identifier says about the media...
Hello,
I recently tried overclocking my Barton 2500+ on my Asus A7N8x-E Deluxe motherboard (I have a two 512MB sticks of CorsairXMS PC3200 memory). Leaving all other settings at default, I could get my FSB up to about 185 or so before it would be buggy inside Windows XP (SP1a). Everything...
I'm having a similar problem with my CorsairXMS PC3200C2 ram.... Built my new computer (see sig) and ran everything at stock (333 FSB) for a week or 2. Then tried upping the FSB to 400 and it wouldn't boot. So I tried various settings between 333 and 400 and found that up to 350 it worked...
