I have another question. I burned a movie onto the Ritek media in question at 4x, and it played fine in my computer, but the Panasonic DVD Player in my living room didn't even recognize it. Have I just bought blanks that will never work in my standalone player, or will future firmware updates...

Nobody here is trying to burn dual layer, just plain old 8x single layers...

I didn't need a driver. I just plugged it into my system and booted up and WinXP recognized it.

I always insert it first...
