I have one of my Trippers aligned at a 90 degree angle and it works fine. I think as long as the ends are around 1/8" from each other they'll work.

Actually, I have a HA14C wall dimmer working with it. Basically all I had to do was put the Wink hub into include mode and tap the power switch to pair it.
