I've tried many different speeds, usually 750-800.

I had the 1.5 BIOS and I had to upgrade to the 1.6 before this chip could go in.

So, can I tell newegg, "I need a new chip b/c this one won't overclock high enough!"?

I have an 8800GTS 512, and I have seen a great improvement in games and apps upgrading from a e6600(OC'd to 3Ghz) to a stock E8400. Sometimes up to 8fps in 3dMark06, and I now have no problems in crysis @1440x900 and all high settings.

Thanks for all of the help! I figured out that my system did not like the drivers on the CD that came with the MOBO, so I had to get all of the newest drivers form the site. I installed them and...problem solved.

There is a button on my Mobo the I think clears the CMOS. I use it when I overclock too much and my system won't boot. But, I already tried it several times. I have been messing with it for hours. At one point I got it to run without any problems. I ran 3dMark06 and my score was back to...

One more thing! I was researching and I found out that you shouldn't flash your BIOS when overclocked. I used MSI Live Update, so I don't know that I "flashed" my BIOS, but I think I had my CPU overclocked. Could this have anything to do with my problems. I'm not 100% sure I had my CPU overclocked.

I have to go to work all day, but I thought that I would note that last night, before I went to bed, I installed the old processor and still had the same problems. Also I tested my memory in another computer and had no problems. Thanks for the suggestions and I will try them later tonight.
