I really hope to find the source of the problem soon. Maybe my 512 megs of ram is defective or there's something wrong with my new Radeon x800xtpe (reverting back to older drivers and enabling/disabling some specific settings didn't change anything). I reinstalled a fresh backup of XP...
I reinstalled XP 2 days ago and my system is virus/spyware free so it's not the problem.

In my case, I'll wait a few more years before getting a DECENT LCD and I'll keep my good old 17 in. "shadow mask" CRT monitor. This old technology is more mature. Buying this LCD monitor was a BIG mistake.
