    Startup Folder Delay

Alright here's what I came finally got to work: @echo off PING 127.0.0.1 -n 16 >nul start "" "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" The 16 represents 15 seconds, and the start "" closes the batch file command window after my browser opens.

    Startup Folder Delay

Like I said even though I tried to educate myself on the subject batch file language is hieroglyphics to me, so if someone knowledgeable on the subject won't give me a hand in writing a working start delay file for me than I guess I'm out of luck.

    Startup Folder Delay

OK, I made a batch file using the info that you supplied, and when I tried it the command window opened but my browser didn't (see screen shot). Just to clarify, my batch file consisted verbatim of the information that you provided... do I need to put time parameters in the file? If so, I don't...

    Startup Folder Delay

Thanks for the link Ken, but apparently you and KLin are under the mistaken impression that I haven't already spent a lot of time and energy trying to figure out batch files and trying get one to work on my computer to delay my browser program starting up when I boot my computer. I have put in...

    Startup Folder Delay

Thank you for the link, KLin, but before I posted here on the forum I spent three hours on the Google machine trying to find a solution to my problem, with no luck. Personal attack removed -- Programming Moderator Ken g6

    Startup Folder Delay

WinXP I've got a Firefox.exe shortcut in my Startup folder to start my browser when I boot my computer, but when the browser starts I get a Server Not Found error message. When I refresh the browser it then connects normally. I'm thinking that if I can delay the browser starting for 15 seconds...

    Nvidia Drivers

For what I do it's plenty, and the price is right ($8.00).

    Nvidia Drivers

Ah, the eBay listing for the card didn't include the NVS 285 information. Using that information I went to the Nvidia site and found the drivers. Thanks for the help!

    Nvidia Drivers

I'm looking at buying a used Dell Nvidia Quadro P383 128MB video card to upgrade my Optiplex 330, but I can't find drivers for the card on either the Nvidia or Dell sites. Any suggestions on where to look?

    EaseUS

Good call guys... I changed the boot order and was able to run my clone program. The only odd thing was that my BIOS (Dell Optiplex 330) wouldn't let me set my CD drive as #1 and my HDD drive as #2 - it would always default back to the HDD being #1 and the CD being #2 - so I set the CD as the...

    EaseUS

I bought a used computer with Win7 Professional installed on it, and this is my first experience with 7. I'm trying to run my EaseUS cloning CD on computer start up to clone the 7 OS to an external hard drive, but when I start my computer it bypasses the EaseUS software and goes directly to...

    SSD/HDD Alignment

My SSD worked fine after aligning with Gparted and it wasn't until I went back to using an HDD that I started experiencing glitches.

    SSD/HDD Alignment

Just for yucks I ran the 'Align All Partitions' option from the Mini Tool Partition Recovery program and now some of the gliches that I was experiencing on my computer have cleared up, so perhaps there is some benefit to having an HDD specific alignment on an HDD.

    SSD/HDD Alignment

    SSD/HDD Alignment

I thought migrating and cloning were the same thing. I cloned my OS from my SSD to an external hard drive and then transferred the OS from the external HDD to the HDD that I now have installed in my computer. As an aside, I ran AS SSD benchmark and it shows: pciide - bad 31K - bad
