As I'm poking around a little, it looks like my problem is (was at this point) related to fan speed. I cranked up the HSF speed and just passed 32M SuperPI simultaneous both cores.. Max temp was 47 degrees which seems pretty reasonable. Orthos blend passed 3 rounds as a prelim test this AM...

Computer just turned off after a few more minutes- temperatures are too hot.. I checked teh HSF, which is stock intel, reseated, seems to be in there properly. I did not use AS, as I thought it would be OK without. Anybody familiar with the intel HSF- How do I get the thermal pads off...
