Multisample Adaptive AA in Catalyst 7.11

Sylvanas: Yes, you are right, it came out with the 7.10s. Someone in the Tweakguides forums made a few good screenshots comparing quality: http://forums.tweakguides.com/...hp?p=74759&postcount=3 From what I see in Oblivion, the feature didn't improve between 7.10 and 7.11. Speed under...

How much power is really needed to run a X1950 Pro AGP?

According to shunt-resistor measurements by XBitLabs, the X1950 Pro consumes 66W in 3D under load. Current draw on the 12V rail is about 5A. A modern 420W PSU should have no problems powering it.

Multisample Adaptive AA in Catalyst 7.11

Looks like Multisample Adaptive AA finally made its way into the Catalyst drivers, with an interesting Smoother <-> Sharper slider. Anyone tried it yet?

    ATI CCC problems...

You do have .NET Framework installed, right? Why the hell are you using Dhzer0point drivers anyway? Repackaged files from different driver releases don't equal a better product. For one thing, they are not gonna have ATI's army of QA personnel to do compatibility testing on all common...

    x1900xt

Neg, there is no TV tuning capability. However, in this case, since the satellite receiver has an S-video port, it can be fed into the X1900XT. The actual "tuning" and channel flipping are done by the satellite receiver box, with its own remote. This means, for example, you cannot record...

    x1900xt

Here's the fun part - As far as I know ATI doesn't supply the capture software. The WDM driver simply exposes the VIVO functions to Windows, so 3rd-party apps can detect them. One such free app is Virtual VCR: http://virtualvcr.sourceforge.net/

My x1800xt seems a little too hot

Hardware -> Overclocking Settings -> "Fan" tab Be sure to use the latest version of Tray Tools. Some earlier versions may not support the X1800/X1900 cards due to lack of information.

    x1900xt

http://support.ati.com/ics/support/defa...ptID=894&task=knowledge&questionID=640 Scroll down to the "WDM Integrated Drivers". That's not an S-video port on the back of the X1900XT. S-video has 4 pins. This one has 9, meant for a VIVO cable.

My x1800xt seems a little too hot

Install ATi Tray Tools and take a look at the fan speed ramp schedule. By default I don't think the fan speed goes to 100% (leaf blower) until the temps reach 95C.

    x1900xt

The X1900 indeed has VIVO capability. Install the WDM drivers, found in the same section on ATi's website as the main Catalyst drivers.
