Best Blu-ray player for $300, and best 42" HDTV...?

What do you mean by accommodate a legacy receiver or amp? What would qualify as legacy? More specifically, what feature would an older receiver or amp lack that would necessitate the need for a more expensive player?

Best Blu-ray player for $300, and best 42" HDTV...?

I want to buy a Blu-ray player for ~$300, what is the best one to get? It must also play regular DVDs, and preferably upsample them. I don't care about HD DVD. And what would it be lacking compared to the really expensive ones? Also, I am in the market for a high quality (good LCD panel...

What calibration should I use on NEC LCD2490?

I got the NEC LCD2490WUXi monitor with the special SpectraView II software and calibrator. There are several presets I can calibrate to, or I can specify my own calibration. The available presets are: Broadcast Video CRT Monitor Standard DICOM Blue DICOM Clear Digital Cinema L-Star...

Damn it most likely will be that stereoscopic crap if it is labeled as dual link DVI.

ViewSonic coming out with 120HZ 22" computer LCD??

Wait a second... are you saying that LCD actually runs at a native refresh rate of 120Hz -- the same as a CRT set at 120Hz? And that it can display a true framerate of 120FPS without tearing? Or is that just two 60Hz signals interweaved on separate panels to create a 3d image when using the...

ViewSonic coming out with 120HZ 22" computer LCD??

http://www.tcmagazine.com/comm...shownews=21438&catid=2 Can it really be a true 120Hz LCD and not be using black frame insertion or whatever it's called? I thought viewsonic was pretty bad and all about advertising, like monster cable.

Need help selecting a quality 1920x1200 WUXGA LCD...

I went ahead and ordered the NEC -- and I went for the one with the built in calibration hardware and software, for a grand total of $1226. I love how that ends up working out, spending more than double my original budget and all.

Need help selecting a quality 1920x1200 WUXGA LCD...

It does say something about using a 12-bit lookup table... is that good? Should I spend the extra money for the version with the calibration software/hardware? I know it's over my budget, and I am unhappy to pay this price, but it is the only LCD that suits my needs (wants) apparently.

Need help selecting a quality 1920x1200 WUXGA LCD...

Unfortunately, 26" is too large for me. Max size I can get is 24". I've kind of increased my budget and am now looking at the NEC LCD2490WUXi-BK. Is it any good? I would assume yes, for the price... Is it 10-bit or 8-bit? It has an H-IPS panel.

Need help selecting a quality 1920x1200 WUXGA LCD...

I can live with 60Hz. All I was saying, if there is anything better, I would love it. So any suggestions? I really would like to order ASAP, and the number of choices is really making my head spin. I've been considering the HP LP2465: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16824176059...
