I would probably re-install the chipset drivers. What chipset is it? Can you see the controller in Device Manager? if its still not showing up, I think the next thing I would do is disconnect the IDE and install my OS on that sata drive, its probably faster than that IDE anyhow, and see if...

Yes, what check said. Yank out every thing except the CPU, if it doesnt beep a fault code, its the one of the 3 things, CPU, Mother board or Power supply. Trying a new supply wont hurt, but the others are kind of terminal. Good luck.
