you know i heard you say run TRFC over 50 on 2Gb sticks which is good advice but i managed to run the sticks at 1100 on 42 stable as it didnt have over 42
Wow can't believe you said RMA the board so quick. How do you know it isn't the memory. Have you tested it with memtest?
Salatheon has changed the cpu and the memory and changed it back to default and changing the Bios, so alot has changed. The quad core take a different amount of voltage at...
@Athlongamer
you have to first run this memory at 2.1 volts. you might have the timings too tight.
@n7
thanks, i think i go for a 2x2gb as they great price lately.
what do you think will happen to memory prices? will DDR2 keep getting cheaper and cheaper or will the price rise?
well it still cheap. i am in Uk. theres only place that sells Mushkin in the whole of the Uk amazingly.
Have you heard of cell shock memory? they have a 8 layered pcb. Micron D9GKX chips.

I found these CL4 should be good...
@graysky
well done on the article.
maybe you can do an update on memory sub-timings like trd and trc which have shown to have a bearing and big involvement on performance.
that G.Skill 8000 will already do 1000. yes i can can reach 500FSB on a 6400 but i need 1.6Volts to get there.
no i was just curious lol well 550FSB which will be possible on the new boards that will need 1050. i can squeeze that out of the G.Skill but then its at its limit. i seen now...
well thats sensible advice but the kids of today cannot wait. graphics cards are like to gamer geeks as mobile phones are like to kids.
i bought my gfx card in Dec 2006 just amazed to see it still worth using.
lol
G.Skill F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ 2x 2GB 1000mhz is great memory for the price and performance

what other DDR2's are better for similar price or more?
thanks for your contributions. i think you made up my mind i get a decent 8800GT 512MB and pay the extra and oc it which maybe come close to a GTX.
it be a waste of money getting sli for a 19" monitor. looking at this hierarchy list http://www.tomshardware.com/20...aphics_card/page6.html it...
i narrowed it down to these 2 which is better?
1GB Gainward 8800GT Bliss GS, PCI-E 2.0, Mem 1900MHz GDDR3, GPU 650MHz, Streams 112, 2x DL DVI-I
512MB MSI HD3870 PCI-E 2.0 (x16) 2250 MHz GDDR4 GPU 800MHz 320 Streams 2xDual Link DVI-I/HDTV HDCP
the 8800GT is $100 more
right the 8800GTS is no good the GT is better and the 3870 is better than the 9600 so that leaves it down to 8800GT or 3870 like you said IL2SturmovikPilot :)
Thanks all.
right thanks its a fine card i did 6x anti aliasing at that res. it got 16(48 Pixel shader processor) or pipes. i just like more detail and shadows etc.
looking at my budget would these cards be much better than what i got?
512MB EVGA 9600GT, SSC, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), Mem 1950 MHz, GDDR3, GPU...
