I think Dell has a small problem with this issue; there are numerous forums on the web, as well as usenet posts, concerning the different panels installed in this LCD not meeting the advertised specs. I don't know how/why Dell would ship out of spec products when, if you get right down to it...
I got the Samsung -- it came today. The menu (factory trick) says: SMG LTM190EX V4T05.
It shipped out of Austin TX.

Hi - I have one coming from Austin myself. How's the picture quality (other than what you've mentioned)? And if you open the box, don't you end up paying Dell something for the pleasure of returning the LCD?
