While one might think that this doesn't explain the bizarrely high system / mobo temp, sounds like the CPU is dumping heat into the mobo - hence the mobo and the CPU look like the same temp. Your HSF is - to coin a phrase - FUBAR

don't fret - VGAs get astoundingly hot - it's just what they do. I was running my 9800 pro in Dx9.0 games with settings as high as I could and still have a usable frame rate, oc'd 20% on core and memory with just the Zalman passive! Trust me - these things can take the heat! Even if it does...
