While I am not glad nvidia is having troubles, I am glad ati is doing well.
AMD has had a lot of troubles, they have good stuff out, they deserve a little victory here and there in the markets :)
2 640 blacks, short stroked 150-300gb os partition, raid 0.
Total price 75x2 = 150 for ~8ms access times and 240+mb/sec read and only a hair behind that on writes.
Nothing less than raid 0 300gb velociraptors can mess with it. NOTHING can mess with it for the price.
I currently use a...
I use 8gb. I like it. I kill my page file and enjoy =)
In fact I like it enough that I would rather run 8gb at 960mhz than 4gb at 1066.
I recently upgraded my HSF and it covered 2 of my ram slots. I have corsair dominator with big heatsinks and there wasn't enough room for them under the...
Mine also requires a lot of volts for 3.2->3.5.
At 3.2ghz it runs great at 1.29v. To step up to 3.4 requires 1.4v and 3.6 requires 1.475v.
My HSF is not the best, old SI-97A. Im going to put a sunbeam core contact on it, at least then I will be comfortable at 3.6ghz without temps going...
Mine has no problems at all! I also bought a friend the same combo of cpu&mobo that I have myself, it also works flawlessly.
Please dont say this is an issue with all gigabyte mobos as it is not.
I vote Phenom 2. I just had to make this decision for myself, and could not be happier with the results.
The P2 is so much more memory efficient than intel chips prior to i7. I get ~13GB/sec on dual channel ddr2-1066, where my buddys 3.2ghz c2quad gets 8-9 @same speed! Can even hang with the...
I got my Sapphire HD4830 for 100 dollars shipped from newegg. It overclocks quite well, mine out benches a 4850@stock.
Anything past a HD4850 is really not needed for single monitor 1920x1200 or less gaming, as the 4830 runs all the games I play at 1920x1200 very well.
