Would this ever happen in America?

this is what you do right after you "give away" your wealth to your self-created charity and put your family on the board, funnelling income to them through this structure and future generations while dodging estate taxes while promising your real goal is to help the world. these people don't...

Atheists can be so stupid sometimes

Atheism definitely is a religion; a belief system around the concept that there exists no god (otherwise we would be talking about agnostics). At it's core, it is totally irrational like religion, unprovable like religion, and lacking the inherent doubt that exists in all intelligent thought...

    Brutal Legend Reviews Up

Based on Joystiq's review, I'll probably rent it but won't spend $60 on it. What I wouldn't give for another Grim Fandango..

Rev. Al writes NFL to block Limbaugh team purchase

He is already down one vote w/ the Colts owner. I bet Rush knew he was going to be rejected the entire time and did this only to find some free conflict to feed his always hungry sheep.

During the festival each year, over 350,000 animals are slaughtered as sacrifice to the deity Gadhimai.

The SMACK heard around the world...

I can see Republicans being happy about not getting the olympics b/c they were worried the heartland would end up paying for it for years like Montreal or seeing no probable long-term economic benefits like China, but if the general GOP consensus is just happy to see a self-adoring Democratic...

    'Going Rogue'

This is my theory on the Kayne West thread also, although you have to replace "left" with "everyone who doesn't get it"

Why Catholic Schools Spell Success For America's Inner-City Children

I think teachers have more individual authority in Catholic school but are also held more responsible and tracked for the current and future performance of their students; that was the case in the schools I went to at least. My mom is a pediatrician and she had one patient who had to be home...

Wolf Blitzer gets owned on Jeopardy

What's weird is you never see that "Wow, I am more clueless than I thought" look that is usually there after getting such a beating in celebrity jeopardy. I guess when you're parents name you Wolf, you are practically destined to have a deluded self-image.

In a hundred years time what do you think critical opinion will be of America of this period?

I think in a 100 years they will laugh at how people of this century were more concerned if they were labeled conservative or liberal than whether their society was fiscally responsible or sustainable.

    Fat Princess?

I've had that happen. This game was more fun until people started just grabbing the princess and sitting somewhere hidden by bushes in a corner of the map instead of returning to the castle. Now it's too slow imo.
