I'm using a P4B266 together with Windows XP Professional SP1, and the onboard sound is working fine.
When I upgraded from Windows 2000 to XP SP1 about a month ago, I downloaded the latest drivers for the onboard sound off of the CMedia web site and used those.

I appreciate the info TheCoz. Sounds like I should stay away from the Northwood B's unless more information becomes available. Perhaps overclocking a 2.0 or 2.2GHz 400 MHz bus processor would be a better option on the P4B266 motherboard.

Right now I'm running a P4 1.6A @ 2133MHz on an Asus P4B266 motherboard using the "unofficial" 133MHz FSB.
Does anyone know if this board will work correctly with the 533MHz bus CPU's (2.8B, 2.66B, 2.53B, 2.4B), or do I have to stay with the 400 MHz bus CPU's? I assume it will...
