The R290x launch sounds like Bulldozer launch.. There's a reason why it runs hot and noisy... AMD already did the O/C on the R290X... If Nvidia cut the price for the gtx 780 will the buyer's of the R290X have buyer's remorse?
You don't seem get it i.e to get maximum overclock you need max voltage and this is where the 7970 falls to pieces regarding power consumptions... The general consensus here is that when both o/c to their max than they're pretty much the same performances.. The gtx 680 makes Tahiti feels like...
AMD fanboy in denial... Here's a quote from the review...
The PowerColor HD 7970 when overclocked and overvolted draws 102W more than overclocked on the stock fan profile and with the stock voltage. It also uses over 100W more than the GTX 680 in the same situation and in the same system...
Like AnandTech says... Cf is too broken to recommend.... Xbit review just reiterate what Anandtech is saying... ohhhh Hardocp says Gameplay on Sli is smoother than CF... Don't know how many more reputable reviewing sites needed to get the truth out....
Really? Here's a recent review on 2x7970 using cap 12.3 drivers...

Even all the games that hardocp review on power consumption and you're still in denial and NO, those are not cherry pick reviews because every reviews on the interweb says Kepler is far more efficiency than AMD counterparts... This is what you called "cherry picking" gtx 680 @ 1442mhz...
Why would you want Tahiti for $400 when you can get Kepler for $400.. The hd 7970 consumed more than a 100w just to be on par with the gtx 680... I don't get this logic...
Agreed, people don't buy the gtx 580 for it's compute powers but they bought it because its the fastest chip of it's time... The hd 7970 don't have that luxury vs the the gtx 680....
