    Best vid cards for laptops?

I would imagine the best performing video card (and most expensive) would be the GeForce 4 Go....with 64MB DDR RAM. I don't remember what the model numbers are. I wish I hadn't gotten my laptop until now. It has a Rage Mobility with 8MB SGRAM....sigh.

    Not-so-random reboots?

amd xp 1500+, epox 8kha+ (I LIKE PLUSSES!), 512mb crucial 2100 ddr ram, gainward geforce 3 ti 200 64mb ram (I forget what they call it), and some other crap. Windows 2000 Pro, SP2, IE 5.5 SP2. In the last 2 months or so, I've been getting a ton of random reboots, and the logs all point to...

Laptop Bios can't find CDROM -.- Any tips?

<< HI My bro just died >> . God, what a morbid way to start a post. Sorry about that, by the way. Moving on, the first thing I'd do would be to check out the bios and see if someone disabled the CD-ROM or the seconday IDE channel or something similar. If everything seems fine, go ahead and...

    DVD-ROM dying?

One other thing that I found odd. Windows and DOS both see the drive fine, but if I click on the drive and then click properties, it says the file system is FAT. Normally it would say CDFS if there was a CD in the drive or Unknown if the drive was empty. Don't know if that is relevant at all...

    DVD-ROM dying?

The machine is running Windows 98SE and I'm booting off of a floppy with nothing but the drivers on it. It's not the IDE controller or cable, since I hooked up a spare cd-rom to it and that works fine. I guess there's nothing more I can do...It's just that this DVD drive is only like 3 years...

    DVD-ROM dying?

I've got a Toshiba SD-M1212 DVD-ROM drive here. It was working fine and dandy a little while ago, but it's been having problems. In DOS and Windows it says the device is not ready when trying to read discs. After looking into it, when I put a CD in it, it only spins up for like half a second...

ViVo problems - with Gainward ti500 golden sample

If still under some kind of warranty, see if you can exchange your card for the same model only without vivo. Get a little cash back, maybe. Then get anything ATI.

Best video card with VIVO features for 150?

Whoops. I didn't realize the Radeon VIVOs were that cheap now. Perhaps I'll get one myself!

Best video card with VIVO features for 150?

Get an ATI card for VIVO. You can get an AIW Rage 128 Pro for $149 direct from ATI. Not the best for gaming, but an excellent card for VIVO. Or if you're looking for a PCI card, there are a couple good ones.
