protection erros also occur after adding devices that contain other system format...for example...adding an hdd with a linux partition or incomplete low level format to a win9x boot sequence

thanks losty lets see if i can answer all the questions i ahve 2 scsi controllers the 2940U2W is the one that is not working that other one is an adaptec UW (i dot remember the model number, but i have had no problems with it.) i only have 1 scsi HDD, the other device is a CD-ROM, they are on...

WinME will not recognize one of my scsi controllers when i have a hdd plugged in. the controller is an adaptec 2940U2W, and the hdd is an ibm 7200 blah blah blah...nothing strange about the set up...any ideas?

all i have to say....damn the man...dont buy microsoft winME or Win2K...what good is an OS that will not let you do anything...Go Linux, its stable and its free...

what program did you use to flash the bios...and where can i get it...i need to do the same thing... i am also having the same problem...just booting it up as an HP...tell me where you got the flash program...and i will report what happens to me too
