I got the exact same problem but it's rather bizarre. I took out my heatsink because I wanted to replace it but the damn cpu came off with the heatsink. I have a P-4 2.4 and those CPUs aren't supposed to come off with the heatsink. After I got done replacing the heatsink, my computer booted...
