    Looking for some quiet fans

That's what we're afraid will happen. We are only using 1 xeon proc though. We ordered 4 38mm fans that push half as much air but are only 42dB. We'll see how they preform. We figure the system as a whole will run hotter but they are installing an ac unit that will only be for the server...

    Looking for some quiet fans

http://www.market24.ru/linkpics/36246.jpg http://www.smedia.info/graphics/SR2400-intel-server.jpg The problem is there is no room for a larger fan. I've found a few but was just wondering if anybody else knows of a good place. 60x38mm apparently isn't a common size.

Do CPU HS fans work as well upside down?

So you're trying to pull the heat away from the processor? Doesn't seem like it would work too well.

    I think I made a mistake

Now I feel stupid. I went and checked the tech specs for the board (intel SE7320VP2D2 btw) to see what it says about a terminating chip and clear as day it says "Support for one or two 64-bit Intel® Xeon?processors". Thanks though. Even though I found the answer myself, probably wouldn't have...

    I think I made a mistake

I just ordered a dual processor intel board for a server and a xeon chip. The chip just came in but I'm having this horrible feeling that to run the board will need both sockets filled which means buying another xeon chip. I couldn't find anything online that said you needed both sockets...
