I just put together 2 A8N-E MBs w/ Venice cores. I purchased from newegg and they came with bios 1001. I had two different behaviors:
1st: booted, said "checksum error" - f1 to continue, del to enter setup. I figured this checksum error was due to the venice CPU. I put in a floppy...

Ugh, no way! Jeese, the waiting game on the Venice / Rev E Athlon 64 cores and the A8N-E Premium boards have been horrible...

I think it's earlier in this thread- I believe an ASUS rep told someone who attended CeBIT and posted here that the A8N-E Premium board was to follow the non Premium by about 6...

I don't remember the details, but I think I remember that the upcoming Venice core Rev E Athlons (on sale starting April 4th) will have upgraded memory controllers that allow for using more dual channel sticks. You might need to get one of those if you're wanting to use more...
