    Windows 10 Monitor issue.

I upgraded my Windows 7 PC to Windows 10. It has a i7-3770 processor, Intel DH77EB motherboard and a Radeon HD7770 video card. It was running very well under Windows 7 with few issues. The PC has 8GB ram, SSD for the OS and two hard drives. After the Windows 10 upgrade was finished, I did a...

    Romanticizing my D40 memories...

I still have my D40 and I have zero plans to replace it. I don't know if I have ever had a electronic device this long and have not wanted to upgrade it.

Random Blue Screens about 4~6 hours

Memory tests don't always catch errors. Try running with one stick for a while or running through the programs listed in the stability testing thread that is a sticky in the CPU forum.

    New Computer Unstable

Thanks for the help, I have found that I have a bad stick of ram. Interesting thing is that I ran the built-in windows memory tester for 12 hours and it did not find any problems. I then ran memtest86+ for 12 hours and it did not find any problems. After this I decided to run through all of the...

    New Computer Unstable

My new PC that I built when Ivy Bridge was released has been the most unreliable and troublesome PC that I have ever had. I have been getting Bluescreens with ntfs.sys, memory_management, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION stop screens. Video card driver crashes, Microsoft Image Composite Editor...

    USB 3 issues

I fixed it. I found that Intel had a newer BIOS available that updated the USB 3 pin outs. Front Panel USB 3 now works correctly.

    USB 3 issues

I recently built a new Ivy Bridge system and I am having trouble with my front panel USB3 ports. My motherboard is an Intel DH77EB and my case is a Fractal Design define R3. If I plug in any USB device to the front panel USB 3 port Win7 64bit gives me an error stating "Power Surge on Hub...

    How are Intel MB?

My last two computers had Intel motherboards and they were essentially problem free. Zero to very, very few lockups, crashes, reboots or anything similar. In fact, I have a new Intel DH77EB MB waiting on a Ivy Bridge I7-3770 CPU.

    Crucial Adrenaline Vs Intel SRT

I have seen some reports on major issues if the power is interrupted at the wrong time with the dataplex software that is used on the Crucial drive(and others). It seems that sometimes the system may take many hours to rebuild itself if it see issues on the first boot after a power outage. I...

Fast Hard Drive & ssd cache or Slow HD and Big SSD

Jman13, I have thought about that, but have not really found a good solution to moving the c:\users folder. I know that I can easily move the "My Documents" folder, but folders like "AppData" I can't find a good way to move. I just checked and AppData is one of the hogs and is taking up 17GB...

Fast Hard Drive & ssd cache or Slow HD and Big SSD

I am planing a new Ivy Bridge system and I am trying to decide how to partition my SSD/HD drives. I currently have ~130GB(windows + programs + stuff that programs insist on installing in My Documents) on my system drive and loads of data on my data drive. I would like to get a ssd in my new...

Windows 8 Consumer Preview Feedback Thread

I have used the Consumer Preview and hated it. I really don't think that Microsoft is that stupid, at least I hope not. So, I wonder if there is something that they are holding back that would make navigating the OS actually usable. I don't think that many people would enjoy waving their arms...

Windows 8 Consumer Preview Feedback Thread

I have tried the CP more and I still don't like it. I constantly use the start menu on Win7 to search, open recent files and click on about everything else that is on there. I use way to many programs to pin them all to the task bar. I also don't like Metro Apps always running full screen. If...

Windows 8 Consumer Preview Feedback Thread

I have tried it on my old laptop and I do not like it. It really does seem like two interfaces tacked together and it is always switching between the two. I think that it would be great on a tablet, but not on the desktop. I do not see myself has someone who hates change because in the past I...
