When cds are accessed on my computer on my dvd/cdrw combo toshiba drive (which is the master on ide2, with no slave drive) the sound turns off on my tv tuner if its on. Once i insert a disc and it starts to read it the sound turns off and i have to restart the tv tuner software.
It does the same...
If you enable the ac3 decoding in the audigy software does it only decode to a spdif enabled set of speakers?
I tried on my 2.1 setup thru the standard line 1 out (not the spdif port, cuz it doesnt work of course) and it doesnt seem to do anything.
?
i agree but i only have 266 memory so i wont be able to get more than 4.2gb of bandwidth out of the nforce 2 either and i have a buyer for my new board now.
im waiting for the next amd chip for a major upgrade (cpu/mem/and board), either the next amd or build a 533fsb p4 as my new main machine...
I'm getting rid of my VIA (thank God) and looked into the SIS and nforce solutions.. the only athlon chipset maker I trust is nvidia even tho they are the rookies.
Which nforce to get? I dont need the onboard video or audio but will take the audio just in case my audigy doesnt work with it...
Your comparing very nice speakers to economy grade ones like the klipsch and logitech there.
Yeah I can find 50watt subs that will beat any computer speakers around too.. :-P
Generally speaking tho, with comparable quality components (klipsch vs. logitech), I'd rather go off of RMS rating than...
I don't know why not, the RMS rating on the 560 sub is something like 188watts versus the klipsch speakers not even having rms power on their website or their packaging.
As far as soundstage, I stayed after with a friend who worked there and cranked them both up and saw how far the sound...
Do the z560s have the fader control? I cant tell from logitechs website.
I havent really heard the klipsch 4.1/5.1 but the 2.1 sound pretty good. When I turned up the 5.1 klipsch and the 560s in best buy the 560s seemed to have more volume and maybe more thump but in overall richness of sound I...
I'm looking mainly into the Z560s but would it be better to get a set capable of using the 96khz digital output?
I was never big into the klipsch stuff but would consider it
I would prefer a set with front and rear balance controls built in so I dont have to use the audigy control for...
Like I said, I've seen benchmarks of the Nforce beating everything at 1600x1200 in a game, the reviewer said it was becasue of the dual memory architechure.
I like the dual nics in the nforce 2 and the geforce4mx/6channel audio will be stellar for building systems with.
I'm considering getting the nforce2 (w/built in GF4MX) for myself and might get rid of the Audigy even if it sounds good enough.
But that way you can always rely on decent built in...
I cant believe the amount of troubleshooting this KT266A board has caused me.
Thats why I'm looking for alternatives.. my KT133/KT133A didnt cause me nearly as much grief as this one has.
Install them and every part of them. I found they played a major part in eliminating my Audigy squeal of death with my KT266A.
They also make the computer slightly faster.
What do you think will happen performance wise with the Nforce2?
I use a KT266A that is very stable after LOTS of trouble shooting, if i was to buy again it would be a nforce.
SIS is good but I'd prefer the dual memory architechure myself.
