My problem has resurfaced. Hibernation now fails totally. I talked with the PSU and MOBO vendors. The Mobo is a z68 and that vendor asked me to flash my bios to a UEFI version. I did after great pain and it worked for about 2 days. The PSU vendor suggested a bad capacitor could be the problem...

2012/02/21 : F9. I had updated up to beta and f10 but the problem seems to extend to sleep modes under those bios. I got the mobo before IB came out. http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3978&dl=1#bios Are you thinking that I keep rolling back BIOS to see if it helps?

The 7870xt ran from 4/13 till 10/13 before the RMA. So the problem was there on the system before I ran the gts 250. The gts 25O drivers were un-installed before the 7970.

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with PC power and Cooling...guy was very helpful and suggested that a capacitor may be failing. RMA has been submitted. But because the gts 250 runs, he is not sure.

Thanks. It is hard to get help for these odd problems that require ppl who know a bit more to help. So I need to try to get ppl to look in the hope I find an answer. :whiste:

It is a PC Power and Cooling 910w. It ran dual gtx 560s before the 7870xt. HHHMMMM. Is it a PSU issue where the PSU needs to "heat up" or something?
