Thanks for the info. Seems like such a waste to me. They just want to be on the net at the same time to play games on yahoo. Broadband isn't an option for them since they are too far away. I will let somebody else do it for them, because I know they will complain that it is slow with both...
So, one computer would need to be the "server", with phone line and modem. Wireless between both computers, and second computer can access net through "server" ( which will always have to be on) ?
I have a co-worker who asked me to set up a pair of computers in her house through a network. Then she said her reasoning was since they only have one phone line, that she wanted both computers to be able to go through the internet using the single phone line. I told her it couldn't be done...
Thanks Cheetah...going back to start all over. During PC card setup and connection to the router, it indicated an IP address, but I dont think the router is connecting to ISP. Should I try router setup first, by connecting via cable to the router, then installing wireless PC card and software...
I just got a Netgear router MR814 and MA521 PC card for my laptop. Before I would just plug in with cables to the network and be connected to the internet. I installed the PC card and software, connected the router to the network with the internet port. The wireless connetion is indicated...
I need a PCI video card that has TV-out capability, that can run both (tv-out and monitor) at the same time. I am going to be using some teleprompter software, so I need both the tv and computer monitor to be operable. Any suggestions that would do the trick would be greatly appreciated...
