    Which HD 6850?

i like XFX for their lifetime warranty, and yes, it does matter when u run it 24/7. I had a evga295 with lifetime warranty. sold it a few months back, and the buyer said it artifacts now. helped the buyer with the RMA. I ran the card 24/7 on F@H before, maybe that kind of shortened the life. but...

    Undervolting a GPU.

People have been saying that since months ago, and what happened? All of them made their $ back. Simply put, the difficulty and USD/BTC cannot be predicted, thus any argument is irrelevant. Plus, not everyone is in to mine and convert it back to USD.

3x 5850. Only first one recognized by BOINC

Are you serious? I thought the dummy plugs era has long gone. I remember having to use those for multiple nVidia 8 and 9 series cards, but later, it was solved with a new driver update. Since then, I threw away all of my dummy plugs. Where can I buy resisters locally? Would Radio Shack have...

3x 5850. Only first one recognized by BOINC

Win7 x64. 11.4 driver. I used to have only one 5850. Got two more today, and installed it. BOINC and the Bitcoin miner poclbm says I only have device 0, which is the 5850. GPU-Z, MSI AfterBurner, and Windows Device Manager all shows 3 GPUs installed. AMD Vision control shows I have 9...

Sapphire HD 5850 and MSI AfterBurner 2.1, clock ceiling locked!

so i can still flash it back even after i brick it? If I have a working card, then i wouldn't need to "blindly" flash it back correct? I know you can do that with nVidia cards, put a working card in first slot, and put the bricked card on the second, and flash just the second card. Is that...

Sapphire HD 5850 and MSI AfterBurner 2.1, clock ceiling locked!

You only changed the voltage correct? so it is still the same Sapphire Xtreme 5850 BIOS, with voltage at 1.12? What are the chances that I will brick the card? and can it be rescued if I flash back the original BIOS? Yes, I have multiple VGA cards, and mobo with multiple PCI-E slots. So, I could...

Tried new 11.4 official driver, and also switching BIOS to non-writable position. NO LUCK!

HD 6950 gone crazy loud! Can't control fan speed!

Hum?? In my example, BIOS 1 is the one that has factory default, and BIOS 2 is the new flashed BIOS.

Sapphire HD 5850 and MSI AfterBurner 2.1, clock ceiling locked!

If you don't mind, go ahead and send me the modified Sappire 5850 Xtreme BIOS. I will try flash it.

HD 6950 gone crazy loud! Can't control fan speed!

Before I do that, I need to get this straight. Switched to non-flashable means it will always use the original factory BIOS regardless of the number of times I've flashed the card? As I have flashed it 2 or 3 times already. I know the card has dual BIOS. Is the backup BIOS ever touched? Or would...

Sapphire HD 5850 and MSI AfterBurner 2.1, clock ceiling locked!

So would you flash yours and report back? I suppose if you have a backup vga, you should be able to flash it back right?

Oh my goodness, that is exactly what I have! So I will wait for your response once you get back the RMA'ed card.

Sapphire HD 5850 and MSI AfterBurner 2.1, clock ceiling locked!

Yes, it is the Sapphire extreme version, so I guess I am gonna have to play it safe with only 830 core clock, as that is as high as it can go.

Thanks. What about the voltage control? I can't change it on my Sapphire 5850.
