i have the serial number and IMEI, but how do i get the guy in possession of a stolen iphone to just give out the serial number. If i scare him away he'll just disappear.

i called the local police. they said that without a serial number or identifying mark there was nothing they could do. i'm hoping that the case is the exact style and color of my stolen phone since that is probably sufficient, and that this guy will tell me what the case looks like before we meet.

so if you go to bestbuy or wallmart to buy an iphone and say you'll sign up for a contract how do they know? what if you forget to sign up for service and just unlock the phone accidentally? does that work?

yea, good call malak, i found a new video card to use. i guess you're not supposed to have 2 gigs of ram and a 2.6 gig P4 with a 16 mb video card...

windows xp anti-virus disabled internet disconnected. when i put in the vista DVD (i want to do an upgrade) i get an generic various error messages. One of them says setup.exe - bad image. the applicaion or dll is not a valid windows image. please chekc against your isntallation...

edit: firxed via jumper settings. doh. i purchased a new SATA drive, to replace to IDE hard drives (4 year old system, that i will be upgarding) at first i had posted here asking how to convert IDE to SATA but then i realized a much better solution would be to just use the SATA connector...

although it might have been the windows utility being better than the ZyXEL utility...
