Thanks jfunk. I went to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and renamed the host file to hostold. Now I can see gifs and the banners. How in the world would I find out what is missed up in the host file?

Can someone please tell me how to get rid of the status icon in the system tray. I have the deskjet 970cse and installed the home user drivers because I like the preview feature and the corporate driver dosn't have this feature. Thanks

Yep I have the promise drivers loaded for XP. It's just one of those little problems that is about to drive me nuts. It's strange that it will not show up in XP when it is attached as a 2nd drive either a slave or as a master drive on the other promise IDE connector.
