Thanks for the replies, the psu which has served me well for some years now is rated at 300W. I know that it is considered to be a bit on the low side nowadays and I just noticed that the 5v drops from 4.92 to 4.86 when pushing the system.
Is that a normal drop or am I close to the border here...
I?ve just upgraded my old box with a new Epox 8rda+, cpu, memory and graphic card. And at first everything seemed to be running along nicely.
But after a while the sound started to stutter and then it silenced. I rebooted but the sound was gone. The next day it all worked fine again. Heat...
So I finally got around to upgrade me old computer. Ordered some Epox 8rda+ AMD xp2400 and a couple of 256 dims, also a Maxtor 80G with 8Mb cache.
I dropped it all in my tower and hooked the Maxtor as master on ide0 and added an old seagate 20gig as slave. (I know, the seagate will slow it...
Hi, I?ve got an internal PCI modem bought in the US, does anyone know if there are any differences between American and Swedish telephone lines? In other words, can I use the modem in Sweden?

I believe it works now, when I deny admin all rights on the GroupPolicy directory I seem to get away with it.
So everyone, thanks for the suggestions.

Leif?
Nothinman, I tried to deny all rights for admin on the Grouppolicy/user/registry.pol file and it seemed to work once, then I gave me the rights back to change some settings. Applied deny all rights again and relogged in but now it doesn?t work. I still get all the group policy settings applied...
Thanks for the pointers.
I have now looked at gpedit but I must be missing something, how the ¤#?! do I select which user or group the settings should affect?
I want to have three user accounts with different levels of security and those settings seems to apply to everyone, even the...
Hi folks,
I?m about to configure a win2000pro industrial PC that will be standing in a factory and controlling some pretty large machines. Anyway this means that quite a lot of people will have access to this PC and so there is a risk that someone will mess it up.
As I?m not familiar with the...
No, the difference between mx and ti cards is not about resolution. So go for the ti card since its GPU has much more whistles and bells then the mx.
Leif...
I believe he already uses jaz-drives with some older systems that are still running. And I guess he wants to use the same backup system on all machines as long as it?s possible.
Well, I?ll see if I can change his mind.
Anyway, thanks for the answers guys.
Leif?
I?m preparing a system for someone who says he wants
to use a Jaz drive, and thus I need to add a SCSI interface.
And since I never touched SCSI before I just wanted to
check up on some specs to get it right.
