OK. Apologies. I just looked up what pixel pitch means...so I think that means the actual pixels themselves are the same size? Is that right?

Personally I think it will look fine. I play a whole lot of games - FPS, RTS, RPG - games like Far Cry, Half Life 2, Doom 3, UT 2004, Dungeon Siege, Act of War, Wacraft 3, HOMMIV and a whole host of others on my 2001FP (native 1600x1200) at all sorts of resolutions (mainly 1280x1024 or simliar)...

Thanks for that info Peter. Pretty much confirms what I thought on both counts. My biggest issue is the compatibility with my existing 2001FP in normal 2D/desktop work. If as you have suggested the 2405 has the same dot pitch of 1200 height then sweeping my mouse from the 2405 to the 2001...
