    HL2 Audio CD

You could also try running a search on a program called gcfscape which will allow you to open the game's archives and extract all the music. I don't have the soundtrack cd, but unless there are some special, remixed, or unused tracks on it, you might as well just listen to the mp3s you've...

Half Life 2 - Sales Totals

Well as we all know, to play HL2 you have to use Steam. This page here http://www.steampowered.com/status/game_stats.html says that there are approximately 2.2 million unique users of Steam per month. Old CS is still the most played game and probably accounts for a great many of those users...

    HELP Just installed HL2....

Have you tried running the game at stock speeds? I have my GT conservatively overclocked to 400/1.9 (stock cooling) and I get no artifacting in FarCry or Doom 3, but in HL2 it happens sometimes. HL2 runs better than either of the former two, but that doesn't mean the card isn't being pushed...

How to install Half Life 2 Without Steam?

In the time it took me to write my response, the question had already been answered - several times - so never mind.

Geforce 4 ti4200 running out of steam :)

You might also want to consider another 512mb of ram.

Hard drive boots in one comp but not the other...

Thanks for the response. I've tried installing WinXP to the drive while it's in the oc'ed machine, but it never works. I'm really not sure that the hdd was actually fixed. I reformatted it and analyzed it a dozen times in the oc'ed machine before putting it in the second system. I could...

Hard drive boots in one comp but not the other...

A month ago I put together a new athlon mobile system with a DFI Infinity Ultra mobo. I successfully installed WinXP on my 60gb Hitachi Deskstar. Then I pushed the ram timings too far and the computer failed to post. I reset the cmos with the jumper switch and of course the comp posted...

    TV Out Picture Quality?

The image my Ti4400 puts on our 47" HDTV via S-Video was ok. There were only two resolutions available, 8x6 and 10x7. Even at 8x6 with big icons and extra large text, it wasn't much fun surfing the web, word processing etc, the text was just too blurry. However videos, dvds, and games all...

    Help! Cut/Paste destroys my files!

I've got a 200gb Maxtor hdd. For Windows to recognize the full capacity of the drive I had to install the SP1 and a Big Drive Enabler registry fix I downloaded from Maxtor. Now the problem is that I had previously used this drive as a slave. I had divided it into three partitions of...

Prime95 craps out a minute into the stress test..

When I put my first system together, I used a DFI Infinity Ultra and two sticks of PC3200. I put the ram in slots 1 and 2. I was failing Prime at all settings and discovered that the problem was that the ram wanted to run in dual channel and to do that it needed to be in slots 1 and 3. Moving...

    x800 v. 9800 pro

I just thought I should point out (I looked and I don't think this has been mentioned) that the 6800 GT is a single slot, single molex card. It should then be just as small and run just as cool as the X800 Pro. If availability is an issue, well then forget it, the obvious answer is the X800...

Building an XP-Mobile rig, go with the XP2400 or spring for the XP2600?

When I was researching the mobiles before putting my new system together, the general impression I got was that the 2400 topped out around 2.4-2.5ghz while the 2500 and 2600 both topped out around 2.6 and 2.7ghz. I went with a 2500+ from Newegg, stepping IQHYA, and it can do 2.6ghz Prime stable...

Urgent - Window XP Serial Number

It is possible, though I don't know that it's legal. I recently put together a new comp and I was able to use my old copy of XP Home and my old serial to install WinXP. It activated over the net without a problem.

True limits of the increased voltage tolerance of Mobile AXPs..

When I first put together my oc'ed mobile sytem a couple weeks ago, I too wanted to know how far I could safely push the voltage and did a bit of research. I found that AMD's recommended maximum voltage is 1.85v for the Barton line and that generally those with air cooling didn't feel...
