which ram set should i get
G.skill or OCZ reaper?
i have g.skill now and like it but this would be a nice upgrade: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820231166
or should i got with the ocz reaper? cheaper in the long run but i hear it takes 3-4 months to get the rebate...
Will 1066 ram work with my board? My board says it only supports up to ddr2 800. Sorry im not an overclocker, but would like to so i dont know anything about voltages, timings etc. should i get that ram or some good 800 ram...
And i already bought the CPU so could you guys stop arguing...
Thats exactly what I did. also they had a combo where you could get a arctic freezer 7 for 4 bucks more which is a good deal on a decent aftermarket cooler. and i bought a copy of vista/win 7 upgrade for $109. Through bing i will be getting 63 bucks back in cash.
I dont like buying stuff...
I've read the p5w doesnt run that size chip well. They support them via bios update, but they have problems. From what i have read, the q6700 is the best card that is fully supported.
Are there any benchmarks that show how well it performs with some more modern CPUs?
BTW im getting an...
Right now I am running a C2D e6400 on an asus p5w DH mobo, 2 gigs(planning to add another 2gb) of ram and an 4890 1Gb VC. Would upgrading to a core 2 quad q6700 now keep my system in the high range for a while or is this chip going to hold me back in the long run? is it worth the $180? I am...
Edit: I am going to go with the ACF7. I found an opened item on Newegg for $14 so thats a pretty good price! I also checked out my old Arctic silver 5... it still seems good so i'll use that.
hmm, so would the AC7 be a better buy at 25 bucks instead of a tunic tower at 50 bucks? The higher I can OC the better i guess. I think i might buy new artic silver since its only like 5 bucks... rather not take a chance on the old stuff. As for air flow, i think im good... 2 80mm fans on the...
Well, I like graphics, and a lot of the newer games either look great and chug along or run great but look blocky and dull. Nothing wrong with it but why not get more power? Most people seem to think its a worthy upgrade.
I'm planning on getting some extra life out of my gaming rig by getting 4gb of ddr2-800 ram, a new video card and over clocking my e6400 with a asus p5w DH mobo.
I can get the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 for 27 bucks at superbiiz.com of the tuniq tower 120 for $50 at new egg. Which would be...
so even tho the 4890 is only 20 bucks more, it not worth the extra 20? most bench marks it averaged 5-6 fps more than the 4870... I think that might be worth the extra scratch.
