and i was looking at the bios etc..

asus a8n sli deluxe -
3500 winnie
512ddr 400
2 hard drives
COOLER THERMALTAKE SONICTOWER ( just passive no fan )
i have one exhaust fan antec.. on the p160 case.
HOUSE temp ambient ( is this what u call it in english ? ) is 29C in my room
and these are the temps
these are...
to add to this i hear if u want no noise
get the thermaltake sonic tower
i hear it works really well even with no fan, and u can even put a quiet 120mm fan in the middle
call asus RMA get the numbers from there website
and tell them that u need the new fan sent out
MUCH MUCH IMPROVEMENT
my temps are load at 38-39 same as before with the old heatsink
and that is with big time heat in my room since the temp outside is 25C
i want to buy new cooling from stock someting that cools better at least
but how much weight can an asus a8n sli deluxe mobo and an amd 64 chip handle?
check out www.xtremesystems.org
under the amd section ( i know u have a p4)
but check a thread about
the THERMALTAKE TYPHOON
the dude there is having great results with it, saying it's doing better then his xp90
AND here i always though people should not mix two compounds together
such as A thermal pad and thermal grease together right??
it's get me worried
when a big name company like asus, and the original stock heatsink that came wtih it
has a thermal pad on the heatsink and thermal...
nah i know about the nforce chip ehhe
there is like a shim or something some plastic thing that is cover that whole picture of what u posted.. and the only thing that is exposed was the core..
i got some questions..
i am replacing my chipset fan today..
but under the old on there is this cover over the nforce4 chip...
should i leave that there?
also..
should i add some thermal compound?? or leave that stuff that asus shipped with the heatsink
these are some pictures of the heatsink the new one..
and that pink crap they put on..
anyway also the top portion of the heatsink comes off where the screws are in the pic
and u can replace the fan if it's to loud of whatever for some people

i got a new fan today from asus..
but underneath it,, where the heatpad is,, is some pink stuff like thermal paste but it's like hard as a freeking glue ..
what can i remove this with?? or should i just use the zalman i bought and leave it alone..
well i just called the rma department
for the asus board. and they told me they are replacing it with a heatsink now
and they are sending it out
that is all
though i heard it has to hard to install it
not the black thing
but the actualy xp 90
trying to get it into place....
and pushing the clips down that it adds a lot of force on the chip
