    Dual monitor issue

I have a 2 monitor setup on my computer and everything runs fine on it. However, when I play most games that don't support 1680x1050 windowed resolution I am forced to alt tab in order to access my second monitor. I was wondering if there was some kind of program people use to remedy this issue.

    Worried about upgrading to x64

I'm loving 32 bit vista right now. I haven't had a single issue in 5 months and am surprised by how compatible it is with different software. Now I think the reason it's so stable is because I turned off updating. I have 9 important updates but I don't think i'll even think about installing...

    Not sure about upgrading

I've been thinking lately about Intel's new CPU (Nehalem). It's obviously not going to use the old LGA 775 socket, so that means when this beast is released most of us will have to upgrade our motherboards if we want this chip. Right? Other than that we have a new graphics card series coming...

    Cleaning a motherboard

http://youtube.com/watch?v=OkWePqTfD14 This guy actually puts the MB and most of the cables into a tub of water/soap, then uses scrubbing bubbles, followed by hand drying it with a hair dryer. Now when I first saw the video I said to myself "this guy is crazy", but searching around some...

Should I switch out my 2gb stick for x2 1gb?

I have 4gb of total ram atm(x2 1gb and x1 2gb). I was wondering if I should go purchase 2 sticks of 1gb so I can have x4 sticks of 1gb ram total. I was thinking of doing this after seeing my timings in cpuz. I don't know much about RAM so I don't know if this is bad or not. Here are the...

    Question about user control

I recently turned off the annoying UAC messages and noticed that now I don't have access to most files on my C directory(where vista is installed). I logged onto my admin and gave my second account(the main one I use) full permission to modify anything on this disk but I'm still getting the "you...

Hehe, yea it is. It's a change for the better. Well windows is up to date now with no update failures. Hope it lasts!

Ok, I've updated my bios to 0401 just fine...I don't know what I was worried about. I've downloaded every single driver that I need, including the realtek audio and nvidia chipset pack. Everything is going along smoothly now with the updates. But then again, I won't know 100% until about a...

I thought the problems were over...I was wrong.

I'm not receiving any of those errors. I'm still surprised that this ACPI error has been causing my BSOD's. I mean this utility is for an app called AI booster, which basically acts as a piece of software that you can use to OC your processor(though I don't know anyone that has ever used it)...

Updating my bios scares me a little. I've heard the horror stories of how things can go wrong. I don't have any extra floppy disks either, and I don't feel confident in my 2GB usb flash to do the update.

The chipset drivers on the asus website are the exact ones on my CD, they're even the same date. Also, I check MS and they say i can ignore this error: http://support.microsoft.com/d...x?scid=kb;EN-US;930062 Not too sure about this though...

    AWARD Flash BIOS command line

The NVIDIA chipset drivers from asus.com are the same ones that are on my CD, even the date is the same. I have vista as clean as possible running at the moment. No updates or drivers have been installed. Yet I can access the internet.

I just re-installed again. I have updates turned off and so far my version of vista is clean. now at this time if I were to download the Nvidia chipset driver from my board's CD I would lose my ethernet adapter driver for some reason and not be able to access the internet...this usually results...

I thought the problems were over...I was wrong.

It's not working that way. As soon as vista boots for the first time it automatically installs drivers for different types of devices. Then when I run the mobo CD drivers I can't access the internet after. The CD comes wiith 3 drivers: -Nvidia chipset driver -Realtek audio driver -JMicron...
