A friend of mine can not Hotsync because the computer or the Hotsync program thinks COM 1 is busy. The cradle for the Treo 650 is plugged into a USB hub. It was working fine for a while.
Solution?
Actually, I misspoke. He already upgraded his HD to a larger one, but wants to back up his info and do a fresh install. So, unfortunately, cloning wouldn't work in this situation. Any other advice?
I have a client who has a Toshiba tablet PC (not sure of the model number) who wants to upgrade their hard drive to a larger hard drive.
When I upgraded my hard drive on my Toshiba, it gave me the Wrong Machine error message. I tried using the DMI update tool, but it gave me a choice between...
Using a different monitor. Video is onboard. It actually just happened again (would not boot up and monitor light would flash). So, I replaced the PSU, and it's running fine.
I'm testing the Samsung hard drive as well. For some reason, Samsung's diagnostic program, SHDIAG, stopped. It...
My client just told me that it went a week without booting up, and then it booted up again. When it wouldn't boot up, it would turn on, make a couple clicking noises, and then just stay on with the fans going, but the monitor's light would blink and there would be no video.
Any ideas?
I have this system that after you use it for a while the video will go out. Then, if you leave it alone for a few days, it comes back.
What could this be?
PSU?
Any tests I can perform?
I had to repair Outlook 2002 because it was acting up. Since repairing it, for whatever reason, the text in the body of an email looks a little glossier, and when I click on a link in an email, it pops up the following folder instead of the page in a browser:

Clearing the CMOS fixed it. Thanks!
The reason this happened in the first place is that I did not set all of the parameters when I tried overclocking it again, including not enabling the CPU Interface, which allows the mobo to use the user settings vs. the default settings. It's been a while...
I can't even get into the BIOS right now. It just continues to be a black screen when I start hitting the delete button.
When you say clear the BIOS, do you mean clear the CMOS?
I have a system that has a ABIT NF7-S REV 2.0 mobo with a AMD ATHLON XP MOBILE 2600+ processor.
I overclocked the system when I first built it two years ago. I needed to set the settings back to optimal default to perform some procedures. So, when I tried to overclock it again, it went to a...
That seems to be the general consensus, and I agree. So, I told my client that either he would make a tech friend who could get around it, or he would have full access to the net via his roommate's computer. So, it would be attempt in futility.
That seems like the only viable solution. I'm sure there may be hackers at college that may be able to get around that as well, but it might be a little more reliable than the typical filtering software. What is this type of software called? Is there a monthly charge for it? Which is the...
