    Rather dead, sadly. :(

Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series [Blu-ray][Region Free] $59.50

Yeah, I had the same thing. Showed up as £44.99 on the item screen, added it to cart, went through checkout, and in the summary screen (just before placing the order), the total was £37.49 plus shipping.

    Dragon Age collection $10

I have the original DAO on CD, but ten bucks for the expansion (which I never got) and the sequel is still a sweet deal. We'll have to see how well I can stomach the DRM, though ... I may never actually install this.

15-35% Off at Dell Outlet Home - includes Alienware (Expires Oct-2 & Oct-4/2012)

For the Alienware notebooks, they only have a few of the 17" models. None of the smaller ones, as far as I could see.

Rosewill mechanical keyboards - $64 (FS)

I've been meaning to try a mechanical keyboard for a while, see if it's really all that. I'm in for a Brown. We'll see how it plays out.

Moral Dilemma (Received Intel 3930k by mistake)

My guess is they'd have been a lot more generous if the OP hadn't opened the processor box. If it was still sealed, Newegg would have been able to resell it at full price as a new item. Now, they have to resell it as open box, which means they'll have to eat a substantial loss.

About to RMA drive - but TrueCrypt cleared errors - still return it??

Murphyc, I think we're agreeing. The point I was making is that if the drive can recover from the error and restore my data, then it's working fine from the user perspective. If the error causes some data loss, but the drive works normally otherwise, that's an iffy situation for me. If that...

About to RMA drive - but TrueCrypt cleared errors - still return it??

The primary purpose of a hard disk is to hold data (files, executables, whatever). If it encounters an error and recovers invisibly to the user, great. If it encounters an error that requires wiping the whole hard drive with Secure Erase to fix it, then the hard drive has failed in its primary...

How many builds have you reused your case?

Missed this reply, sorry. Sadly, I'm not a particularly handy person with a Dremel or similar tools. In fact, I've never really done anything with power tools more sophisticated than hanging a couple of paintings around the house.

How many builds have you reused your case?

I bought a Coolermaster Cosmos 1000 a few years ago. It began life housing a Core2 Duo. Later I dropped in a Core2 Quad, and eventually I upgraded to the Core i7-930 it currently houses. I count that as three builds, despite upgrades to the video card and various other components along the...

    WD "Red" drives? At Newegg.

Would using Red drives make sense for a 5- or 6-drive RAID array where each drive is plugged directly into the PC's motherboard? My objective is capacity and longevity (i.e., I don't want drives failing after a year or two), not speed. I still haven't decided between on-board hardware RAID...

    Dust and Upgrading?

Depends on your cost of canned air and the vaccuum. I buy bottles of canned air for about $4 each, depending whether they're on sale or not. Assuming the vacuum duster costs $54 from Amazon, that's about 14 cans of air to break even. For me, each can lasts 2-3 months, so it's probably not...

    DEAD: Buckyballs 67% off, 07/31 + 08/01, diff site

Heh, yeah. I've been reading AT and its forums off and on since maybe 2000, can't remember that far back. Just never actually registered till a couple of years ago. OT: The site freaked out my iPad as well. Can't figure out why the cert is bad. I ended up going with the deal from the other...
