Any CPUs accidentally paired with one single-channel 4GB DDR4 2133 CAS 17 memory RAM stick. Yuck.... they run just as slow like any 2GB DDR3 due to extended CAS latency in DDR4. I am disappointed that I paid twice for DDR4 at half the performance of DDR3, similar to Pentium D experience again.

i3-8100 would be a dramatic improvement for not going obsolete. Intel processors depreciate faster than AMD after 4-5 years. Core i5-4570s now selling for $70 range.

Sandy Bridge CPUs are still performing excellent (minus the graphics) for new Windows 10 1803 builds. Pentium G630s are now less than $5 each.

When you upgrade to full four cores, the frequency speed number is lower (single-thread) and will be slower than Core i3-7320. DDR4 RAMs also have increased CAS latency timings. I found any DDR3 RAMs with CAS Latency 8 or less are faster than any DDR4s I put in.

This is true, only about 20% of Athlon II X2 220 made use a quad-core die but with two cores disabled. Majority use Regor dual-core version. A more efficient value is to get the Athlon X3 version (like Athlon 425) for just $10-$12 each. All of them has an additional one-core disabled.

This Gigabyte 78LMT board is their best-selling motherboard of all time, and their most important model, regardless how obsolete it has become today. There are bunch of people refuse to get into AM4 game. And FX-8350 can reach $5 ten years later.
