Typically for me the hardest thing about changing cpu heatsinks is getting the heatsink attached to the mobo and that itself isn't too difficult. The worst thing about the process is the removal of the mobo (at least in my case).
Well I do like the concept of drawing Nvidia ION power levels for non gaming computing use and then switch over to a GTX275 class of power when gaming.
Stalker and Conan can be just as power hungry as Crysis with all their eye candy enabled but I use a GTX260 vanilla @ 1920x1200 w/4xAA with a stock Q6600, so any card in that class will do you fine, just as long as there's more than 512MB of video ram.
IMO a 19" widescreen is not an improvement over a 17" 5:4 screen
You'll have more instances of game resolutions not supporting 1440x900 than 1280x1024. Go with at least a 20" widescreen or larger for a noticably larger panel to look at and you'll be glad you did.
