Good to know! I had two 4850s in crossfire but they never scaled well and in some cases like BFBC2 they were worse than a single card. But the 5870 should be a substantial improvement either way.
Deal is still alive, surprisingly. Just put in my order. I was on the fence for a long time between this and a 6870, but I'm not going to crossfire and I don't see anything else this powerful for $200. Should be a nice bump from my 4850 512mb! hehe
balderdash. i have an r1 and it plays crysis fine on medium settings. in fact it plays most games fine, newer games usually on medium settings. the only game i've come across that is just not playable even at lowest settings is battlefield bc2.

Just got mine today from UPS. Very pleased, and pleasantly surprised by the included PowerDVD 9 software, which appears to support 6 channel sound and DTS. It also integrates nicely with Windows 7 Media Center - just click on "Play DVD" in 7MC and it automatically launches PowerDVD. Best value...
i went from a 8800GTS 640mb to a 4850 and i'm pretty happy with it so far. there's a noticeable bump in performance in crysis and call of duty 4. more interesting to me, however, was that the picture quality is genuinely better. i'd always thought these sorts of claims were silly ATI...
just got my subscriber id, ordered on the 17th. my cc still hasn't been charged. it's looking like technet will honor any orders placed before they changed the terms, but they probably got swamped with new orders.

if you have copies of your original submission, you can call the rebate department and they should give you a fax number for re-submissions. HP managed to lose my rebate but i still got my check within a week of faxing the documents.
